Mishra Residence

Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh

Located in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Mishra residence interweaves modern contemporary architecture with the traditional Indian Vastu science. Spanning an area of 1085 Sq.ft, this 3BHK residence houses several facilities on the ground floor–three bedrooms with a common washroom, a living-cum-dining space and a pooja room.
The major challenge was to fit all the requirements on the ground floor itself since the client brief asked for it. To maximize space usage and to make the residence vastu-friendly, bedrooms have been designed in north and southwest while the staircase is in south. The washroom faces west and the puja room faces north. To reduce heat gain, all doors and windows are laid out in a way that facilitates proper ventilation and inlet of natural light.
Accentuated by clean lines in the elevation, the residence has been designed keeping in mind the minimalist tones. The entrance of the house is marked by two plain pillars that form the porch while a combination of brown and beige is used to elevate the visual appeal of the house. Common outdoor plants mark the periphery of the house that leads to improved air quality and the user’s living experience.
